Chicken Chorizo Rice

I have learned about this recipe from the internet recently. I wanted something different, something more flavourful from what I have daily thus I'm on a mission to search for something different.

Please find the recipe as below

Main Ingredients:-
1) Basmati rice - washed and drained.
2) Frozen veg ( original recipe call for frozen peas but I prefer
   frozen veg for more colors)
3) Whole tomato with puree (canned)
4) Chicken ( I used drumstick - you can use other part depends on
your preference) - washed and pat dried. Season with a little
   bit of salt
5) Paprika powder ( 1 teaspoon) - mix with the basmati rice after
   washing
6) Pepper (1 teaspoon)  - mix with the basmati rice after washing
7) Chorizo flavoured hotdogs - cut into small pieces according to
   your preference
8) Garlic and onion
9) Water - for cooking rice ( amount depend on amount of rice used
and quality of rice used. Also depends if you prefer the
outcome to be slightly wet or dry)
10)Cooking Oil

P/S: I did not mention in exact the measurement or quantity to use in my recipe as it all depend on feeling. I feel that when comes to cooking, you sometimes have to follow your heart on the recipe. Yup, I'm a "agak-agak" chef you might say. By this way, cooking will be more fun. Don't you think so :p

The main ingredients
Methods:-
1) Heat up wok and put the oil in. Cook chicken for few minutes to
lock in the juice and transfer to plate follow by chicken chorizo
   hotdogs and the frozen veg.
2) Saute the garlic and onion until slightly brown and add in
basmati rice ( already mixed with paprika and pepper). Stir the
rice for a few minute to absorb the flavour from the chicken
and also from the chorizo hotdogs, garlic and onion.
3) Add tomatoes (including the puree) and stir to mix well. Add in
   water and bring to boil.
4) Season to taste.
5) Add in chicken, chorizo hotdogs and also the frozen veg. Mix
   well.
6) Transfer to a pot for steam or rice cooker. Original recipe used
baking method. I prefer to steam the rice as it is easier to
control. If not enough water while steaming the rice, I still can
   add in water.

The final outcome - it is a little bit wet due to using a little bit more water.

Fried Bee Hoon Sotong aka Yau Yee Mee Hoon

This is my favourite all time noodles and surprising it is only available in Seremban. I remembered vividly that once I asked my KL friend (during uni years) where can I get this noodle and this friend of mine asked me not to pull his leg as this noodles is not available and I only made it up.

Well, this is not something I whisked out of imagination. You have to try this if you are around in Seremban. This is easily available in any big food court in Seremban at a very reasonable price.

Basically the soup is from the braised pork and surprisingly it is quite mild in taste. I will always drink all the soup till the last drop. Have a try. I highly recommend it!!

Capitol Nasi Dagang Kelantan

If you are as crazy as me for a good nasi dagang in KL/ Selangor, then you must pay this restaurant a visit. They serve the best nasi dagang Kelantan in town. The best yet so far...... ( I still miss the nasi dagang from Kuantan thou :P - nothing beat first love is guess). A simple shop next to a tyre shop in Uptown, they open daily til 5pm.

They also have not just the original nasi dagang with ikan tongkol, you can choose to have beef, curry chicken, sotong or shrimp or a mixture of all the above for a certain price. To me, I think the price is reasonable for the nasi dagang tongkol @ RM7.90 but when you decide to choose curry chicken over ikan tongkol @ RM10.90, then it is a little pricey as the piece of chicken is kind of small. And if you are like me whom like to order air suam (to save on calories :P), they charge at RM1 per glass.

Nevertheless, if you want a good Nasi Dagang Kelantan, head over to this restaurant.

Bear Paw @ Kota Kemuning

BEAR PAW, the new craze in town or will it able to pick up? Anyway, foresee it will stay at least for few years ( also depend on the creativity of the menu I guess). Made into the shape of a paw, need no genius to guess where the name came from. Anyway, it is refreshing to have from your typical burgers from fast food joint or the road side burger Ramly. Anyhow, me and my buddy enjoy the meal and definitely will go for 2nd round.

Anyway, there is a few outlet available and I had mine in Kota Kemuning .
